TP Link Archer C2
The TP-Link Archer C2 is a dual-band wireless router that offers support for both 802.11ac and 802.11n Wi-Fi standards. In terms of speed, the router is capable of delivering up to three times the N speed router. In addition to fast speed, the router also offers robust security and a more powerful frequency. If your current router is unable to solve congestion issues due to multiple users or you’re simply looking to fasten things up on your multimedia network, then investing in 802.11ac is a step in the right direction.
It is a saucer-shaped router with two detachable antennas on the rear of the device. The router is attractively designed and is meant to be used on a flat surface. An array of indicator lights is included on the front top of the router to display different statuses, such as power and Internet connectivity.
The two detachable antennas work to provide stable omni-directional signals and superior coverage. While the coverage is optimal within the 10-meter range, you may experience weaker signal at longer distances. On the other hand, an obstruction, such as wall can also affect the quality of signal.
It has four gigabit Ethernet ports and one gigabit LAN port for connecting to wired devices and an Internet source respectively. The gigabit ports are capable of delivering up to 10 times the speed of regular ports.
It comes with a single USB port that allows you to connect the router to an external storage device or a printer. As opposed to other competing routers with two USB ports, it only features a single USB port, which may be problematic if you plan on connecting the router to a printer and an external storage device at the same time.
The dual-band router offers up to 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 433Mbps on the 5GHz band, ensuring a delay-free workrate. While the 2.4GHz band tackles small tasks, such as Internet browsing and email, the more intense tasks are supported by the 5GHz band.
It also features guest network access through secure Wi-Fi access. This lets you share your network without having to reveal your personal data.
It comes with useful parental control features that allow you to restrict access to certain users. This feature can be used by parents or an office administrator to restrict Internet access to certain users, such as kids or staff members.
TP-Link is IPv6 compatible. It prioritizes the router resources to ensure uninterrupted access even when watching movies or playing online games.
Setting up the router is a simple task. The installation CD comes in the router box. It offers a step by step installation process that makes it easy for non-technical users to configure the device. The entire setup can be completed in no more than 5 minutes of your time.
You can also access the Web interface of the router for advanced settings. The default IP address for the router is 192.168.1.1. It will prompt you for username and password. The default value for both fields is ‘admin’.
It is a reliable router that comes at an affordable price tag. It delivers decent performance and has a stable signal. The dual band router is capable of supporting both the ac and n clients, which is an added plus. The features make the Archer C2 a good choice for your home or small office network.

I bought this router because I have several AC-capable devices but my old router supported N connectivity only. I saw significant improvement in the range but not much improvement when it comes to speed. I also had a problem using wireless printer with this router, the printer started working only after I connected it to the ethernet port.

The D2 functions as an ADSL Modem or as a router. If you subscribe to a cable service, for example, you can merely connect a jumper cable between the router and the cable modem. Of all the AC routers offered by TP-Link, the C2 is the most cost effective. This and the D9 are also higher end models that more effectively handle complex wireless networks. It works great if you have multiple devices streaming videos simultaneously. The 2.4 GHz band handles speeds up to 300Mbps and the 5 GHz band capably handles 750 Mbps. I feel this router performs better than many of the competitive brands that I have used in the past. I live in a large city where Wi-Fi traffic easily becomes congested. However, this router has made a huge difference.

I have DSL Internet in a rural area of the country. Nevertheless, my service provide supplies us with modems that I feel are poor quality. The device crashes when it overheats, when Internet traffic increases or just because. I have replaced it many times with no difference in performance. I originally tried ActionTec routers. However, within a year, I experienced technological issues with all three. So, I thought that I would give the C2 a go. Set-up was super simple. This modem works terrific. The device has exceptional wireless range. The router also easily connected to all of my electronics without fail. The web interface is commendable, and I have not been plagued by lag. The user-friendly format is organized and easy to comprehend. I am really pleased with this modem/router. After one month of great performance, I purchased a second C2, which gives me complete coverage throughout my home.

Set-up is relatively easy. I just used the quick installation guide. I was getting 300 Mbps speeds. So, the 433 Mpbs is an upgrade. Though I cannot always see a noticeable difference, speed tests reveal the change. The router offers a long list of standard features that include guest network controls, parental controls and beamforming technology that focuses signal strength to each device connected to the router. The product comes with a two-year warranty and unlimited tech support 24/7. It is also compatible with Windows 7 and higher. This is a really fine product.

I cannot say enough about the C2. We have been frustrated with the amount of lag experienced on our home-based network. Despite buying a new router and cables, the problem was not solved until we bought the C2. In our home we have multiple gaming devices, a laptop, tablet, HDTV and smartphones all using the router. We can now operate multiple devices at the same time without having problems. I am in no way a tech wizard. But, I found the router amazingly easy to set-up. I am also impressed by the number of features and helpful guides found on the company’s website.

I use this router for at home for a shared network that includes a printer and an outside storage location. I have successfully transferred large media files between locations without a hassle. I also like the fact that I do not have a tangled mess of cables. The WPS button on the back of the unit serves to easily connect Wi-Fi enabled devices. The on/off button also enables you to power cycle the router if desired or needed. Unpacking, assembling and set-up are pretty straight forward. My home has 1,700 feet of living space and with the router centrally located, I have outstanding coverage throughout. I can even access the Internet and stream videos outdoors. Configuring new devices is as simple as pushing a button. The security measures are good and control options are sufficient. I give the product five stars.

I am a great fan of TP-Link products and have owned many over the years. I chose the D2 because I wanted a modem/router combination that features 802.11n support and was AC compliant. Set-up was a breeze. I simply used the Ethernet connection and the Firefox browser to connect my laptop and logged on using 192.168.1.1. I found that the user interface was user-friendly and easy to navigate.
I connected all of my devices and performed some speed tests. Using this new router, I was getting 20 to 30 percent speed increases. The speed was even better when I switched to the 5 GHz band. However, the signal strength for distance devices became a bit impaired.
There are small LED lights on the top of the device that indicate the power and connections. So far, I have not suffered any drop-offs. Though I plan to tweak a few settings, right out of the box, I am really impressed.

The fact that the router also has modem capabilities is awesome. The wireless range that the device provides is more than sufficient for home use. Set-up is easy and the unit transforms from modem to router with very little effort. The overall design of the router is nice and compact. I get exceptional 360 degree range. The speeds are also great. I have used the C2 in both modem and router modes with no complaints.
