Linksys WRT AC1200 Review
The Linksys WRT AC1200 provides N400 and AC867Mbps dual-band throughput. The beamforming technology makes the router more reliable since it gives the router, improved range, minimal interference from other devices, fast network speeds, and stable Wi-Fi connection. The WRT 1200AC has the color, size and shape similar to that of WRT1900AC and the number of peripheral ports is also alike in the two routers. WRT 1200AC is equipped with two detachable antennas. With this kind of design, the device mixes well with other stackable devices such as the WRT Switch that helps you organize your space. The peripheral ports are at the back of the router and there are white LEDs that show you the status of all the ports at the front.
With the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi connection, you are in a position to control your network from wherever you are. You can manage your home network remotely through the internet. To enjoy this feature you need a linksyssmartwifi.com account, and then log on the website using a computer connected to the router. The first time you do this, you are prompted to enter admin password for the router and from then on, you can manage your home or office network from anywhere in the world once you log in. The feature is quite helpful, however there are privacy concerns since the vendor has access to all the online activities.
Usability and Additional Features
You can use your WRT1200AC immediately you remove it from its box. The manufacturer has printed all the default settings at the base of the device. It is possible to change and customize names of the Wi-Fi networks or other features of the router through the web interface since the interface is similar to previous Linksys Smart Wi-Fi routers. There is an interactive map feature that allows a user to view all devices connected, and you can interact with any device by just a single click on its icon. It is also possible to carry out a quick speed test from within the interface.

I find this router to be extremely impressive. I have used a number of routers over the years. It is rather large and the 1.3 GHz dual core processor is more powerful than a number of PCs that I have owned. Plus the device comes with plenty of bells and whistles. The router is solidly constructed, provides very fast speeds and has more than enough connection options. The range is outstanding for all of the wireless devices I have connected to the unit. It is also surprisingly abundantly customizable. Set-up is relatively easy, comprehensible and organized. Though some might view it as a rather pricey investment, the router is designed well and offers stellar performance. I think the router would even please someone not familiar with the technology.

This router is a more affordable alternative to the WRT AC 1900. It offers high-powered Wi-Fi performance thanks to built-in amplifiers that ensure maximum signal strength. The incorporated beamforming technology both focuses and enhances the signal. The Smart Wi-Fi functionality enables users to set up and manage the router at home or on a mobile device while at another location. I found the instructions to be rather simple. In a mere five easy steps and password choices, I had the router running thanks to the quick start guide.
I think it has an overall retro appearance that I find appealing. I live in an older home with thick walls and a strange floor space configuration. The signal was acceptable regardless of location. I got faster speeds and really became aware of the difference when the router was connected to HDTV. The router has improved our reception overall.

I was so happy to get my router. Our household has constant problems with Wi-Fi connectivity and signal range. We tried upgrading our service. But, that really didn’t help. So I was intrigued by what this blue crab-looking device might do. I connected the router to my modem, which was easy enough. I changed the password and was connected in minutes. I noticed an improvement in signal range immediately. We were even able to get Wi-Fi outdoors in our garden. The higher 5 Ghz band is even faster and more stable, though it does not quite offer the same distance. I believe this was a great upgrade for our home.

I bought the 1200AC to back-up the device given to me by my ISP. I wanted more control of the Internet in lieu of having children. I also expected to have enhanced performance and additional network storage. I have a moderate amount of experience with routers. I prefer customizing the network. Set-up went without a hitch. I found it to be pretty much plug and play. You can then access the website to configure the device. This too was simple. The interface impressed me. I was also thrilled at the amount of control that I had over the network. I don’t make use of all of the features. However, my main concern was limiting access to specific sites. You can also configure settings for every device that connects with the router.
The range and stability of the Wi-Fi signal is an improvement. The reliability of the connection is also really good. I had gotten so used to losing the connection with our last device. I have had no such problems with this router. What a relief. The 5 GHz band performs even better. Unfortunately, not all of our devices are compatible with the band. I use an external hard drive plugged into the 3.0 USB port for extra storage. I can stream TV, music, videos to my other devices and always have good speed. I think this is a really nice router. Great features, an abundance of configuration options yet fairly simple to operate. I would recommend this device.

This router has a fairly distinctive appearance. But then this seems to be synonymous with the brand. Appearance aside, it has been my experience that the company has always produced quality products. A few models may not have delivered on performance but can still compete with rival models. In our home, we use multiple android phones, media centers, gaming consoles, computers, tablets and other wireless devices. When running simultaneously, they can sure eat up the Wi-Fi.
Using this router, I feel the Wi-Fi rises above average. We live in an old-fashioned home that is average in size. The coverage is sufficient. Thick walls often hamper the signal, which has required using extenders with other routers. This router does not seem to need support equipment. The router has provided faster data transfer speeds.
The web-based interface is simple to navigate when you want to establish network parameters. It is very user-friendly and rather intuitive compared to other company sites. With that in mind, set-up was basically easy. The interface includes visual diagrams and a network map. The menu items are clearly defined and self-explanatory. You can configure guests settings for each band. The network allows you to set-up guest usage for up to 50 people on each band. That is really amazing. I like that just anyone cannot access your personal or private network files.
I am pretty happy with the router’s performance. For the asking price, I think consumers get their money’s worth. There are routers costing similar amounts that offer far less in terms of features. For the average person, this device offers great functionality and service. I can’t find any faults.

When I opened the box, I thought this router was rather large, blue and scary looking. It came with two detachable antennas, a CD, LAN cable and power supply. It offer plenty of features that are great for a home network or a small business. The guest access option also ensures the security of your private network. I found the software interface very easy to understand and use. There are plenty of helpful documents that guide you through each step.
Once connected and established, I performed some tests to check the range of the signal. It was pretty much comparable to the SuperHub. For the most part, I recommend the router for anyone looking for plenty of features. It is easy to configure and operate.

The router gave me a boost in terms of signal strength and range. It is very powerful. Because it is so easy to set-up, the process took me less than 10 minutes. The instructions are very easy to follow. The router adequately took care of the dead spots in my home. We have also noticed that there are far fewer lag problems when using our gaming consoles. The range is so impressive that a neighbor three doors down was able to access the connection.
This concerned me as though I inserted a password, obviously others were able to get into my network. I provided a password for both my private and the guest network. The limited instructions did not offer any further assistance concerning limitation. I have since corrected the problem. I do like the idea of the Smart Wi-Fi that allows control over the network and devices using a mobile device. This is a great advantage when having children.
